At the state level we are getting a lot of supremely qualified former feds applying for jobs - and I just know we can't pay them as much as they were making six months ago. We also have a handful of openings, compared to the tens of thousands who are job seeking. It's rough out there.

As someone who lives in a Trump-loving area, a lot of people are either shutting off the news or clinging to conspiracy theory memes on social media to still justify their vote. I'm sure there are people who are regretting their vote, but all three of them have already been interviewed on the news.

Thank you for this. We are not CDC but we are mostly CDC funded and I am worried about layoffs. I'm going to send out EAP and 988 resources today to the staff.

That was my morning cry. I feel awful for the wonderful people I have worked with at the CDC over the years. And I am so scared for the people I manage at the state level and wondering if I am going to have to lay them off due to budget cuts. I think I'm going to send a reminder about EAP and 988.

This is my cat Carlos, who managed to get stuck in the floor for 24 hours by sneaking past a crew putting in a new subfloor in my upstairs bathroom.

Ok, the NYT story is out. This incident is one sentence in a whole story. This fragile little man flower.

As someone in public health, I literally do not know how to do public health without considering health equity. Like, of course I look to see who is struggling first?

Studies can be conducted and written really quickly if you already know what you want to say and you make up the results.

Michael, you have given me such great advice over the years and I am heartbroken that they have done this to you. I am not usually a conspiracy theorist, but I am when it comes to tobacco. I'm just waiting for the reports to come out on which companies have influenced this.

You can get license plates in Kentucky with a "Friends of Coal" logo on it. But note it doesn't say "Friends of Coal Miners."

I work with a state health department and have relied upon the support and guidance of OSH for over a decade. I am so sorry. You all were fantastic.
