✷ Mandala 7 - Escape Velocity ✷
Escape Velocity recalls a liminal July moment on a pebbled beach in the Smith River watershed. I've tinkered with it since last Summer. It’s a dimensional hybrid print with Kirigami elements, revealing slices of turquoise iridescence.

✷ Mandala 5 - Meditation 1 ✷
2026 Year of Mandalas Project (Facebook)

May: "Meditation I" honors the transition from spring to summer, a season of awakening warmth tempered by fog. With this seasonal turning, creative energy moves from introspective and inward to exuberant, expansive, and active.

✷ Mandala 4 - "Source" ✷
2026 Year of Mandalas Project (Facebook)
April:
"Source" draws imagery from my yearly visits to the Smith River. It is constructed in layers and adorned with antique pearls, evoking generative force where water, light, and time converge to replenish land and spirit.

✷ Mandala 3 - "Restless"✷
2026 New Year Mandala Project (Facebook)

The Smith River is swollen in march, moving with purpose in an ancient cycle. This is the season of becoming.
Featuring kirigami elements that reveal iridescence, It’s mounted on a round cradled board tinted phthalo turquoise.

"Limits and Imminence," my February mandala (2026 Year of Mandalas project on Facebook), reflects a month I experience as capricious and moody, yet filled with promise.

I'm welcoming 2026 by participating in Na Omi J. Shintani's 2026 New Year Mandala project. Titled "Verge," my January mandala evokes cold water and winter darkness with a hushed promise of returning light.

BALANCE/SYMMETRY Art Tag met last Sunday. It was a feast for the eyes and heart. It’s fascinating how our artworks speak to each other. Art tag is a Northern California Women's Caucus for Art (NCWCA) program. There are many pods throughout the Bay Area. This is one of the East Bay pods.

Greg and I had a sublime 5 days on the Northern California Coast, from Eureka to Requa, where the Klamath River rushes into the Pacific. There's always something new to experience in the forests and watersheds of Del Norte and Humboldt counties. I can't wait to channel this energy in my studio!
