oh i totally didn’t understand that you meant you knew some japanese. i’ve been seeing lots of talk about this change, terrible is definitely the word for it. workarounds don’t really mean much when you’re paying to NOT have to do that

i know this doesn’t address the root issue, but you can translate text directly from a photo. my iphone can do it from the photo library, but i usually use a translate app for better results. i always do that when watching subs because in my experience, the captioning has always been this bad

what about something with this style of clasp? might take a little digging to find the right product, but i was thinking something that’s plastic or a soft, easily washable fabric. i’m not sure how big your treats are, so maybe this isn’t the solution

i imagine this would apply more to people with higher support needs, as people with lower support needs seem to be more likely to be misdiagnosed with a mental health condition

do you mean like, if/when we’re able to clearly identify autism via genetic testing, that we’d find that some people were actually misdiagnosed with autism due to their symptoms mimicking it? i was trying to phrase a similar reply to you earlier, but couldn’t find the words.

as i understand it, the best theory with the most evidence is that autism is genetic, and most of the time you’re getting those genes directly from your parents.

i remember learning something you can do in these situations! instead of asking an open ended question, you can ask “which toy do you want to bring? this one or this one?” so it still allows them freedom of choice, but you can choose *reasonable* choices for them to pick between

the whole point of the video is to show you an example of what happens when a cyclist is engaging in multiple unsafe behaviors and runs into a pedestrian. nobody gets hurt, and everyone walks away. what happens when you hit someone with a car while engaging in multiple unsafe behaviors?
