esterday I had the honor of playing for a group of old friends. They include a Georgetown classmate of mine, & Jill Biden. One of the friends is ill, and the rest organized some music for her. Of course, it had to be Irish music! Thanks so much to Andy Thurston, guitarist extraordinaire!

The saddest thing for me about Charlie Kirk's murder is that he spent his one, short, precious life fomenting hate and racism. That is a tragedy.

Killing Charlie Kirk was wrong. Killing Melissa Hortman, her husband AND THEIR DOG was wrong. Killing students is wrong.
What would have been redeeming is if republicans could have stopped for a moment and admitted that maybe, just maybe, too many guns available to everyone is wrong.

I just finished this delightful, clever book by Ian McEwan. I don't want to tell you anything about it, but if you have a hunch about the story you're probably right. The book goes on to lampoon Brexit and modern politics. Satire at its best. #booksky

I still have the same question today that I had in November after the election. How do we get the news of what the gov't is doing to those who don't follow the news? To those who didn't bother to vote? To those who didn't even know who was running? To those who believed the R's lies? How?

We are celebrating MLK Day today and tomorrow! What an incredible person and leader. His words will resonate as long as there are humans to read them.

I really enjoyed this book! Here's my favorite comfort read:

A grown son whose father sends him to a property to evict the tenants so they can sell the land, ends up identifying with the tenants and finds a new home and love.

Seeing Kamala Harris certify the election of the man who orchestrated the attack on the Capitol & democracy is horrific. The ignorance & gullibility of people in this country surpasses the darkest description. "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people." Mencken

Gorgeous, Melonie! We had lightning here a few nights ago and it hit DC's Capitol. I don't know the photographer, unfortunately.
