Great news for resource-stressed families in New Mexico! HB 91 will allow utilities to create a distinct rate for lower-income customers, who frequently struggle to pay heating and cooling bills.
HB91 passed in New Mexico with a 7-4 vote & is now heading to the House Floor! HB91 gives the PRC authority to approve low-income utility rates for utilities in NM. This will help ensure affordable energy rates for families who need it most, creating a more equitable & sustainable energy system.
