Literally just got a flier that said, "Don't vote for prop 50! It is trying to keep Republicans from taking the house, wants to imperach Trump, and derail America First!"

Pretty sure they just spelled out exactly why I should vote for it. Thanks, guys!

A mural of the Statue of Liberty covering her eyes in shame was created by Dutch artist Judith de Leeuw. It is in a high population area of immigrants in France…!!!
She said ‘The values that the statue once stood for - freedom hope, the right to be yourself - have been lost for many’…!!!

I haven't given up on people. I know that many of them won't change their mind. But that middle group...I still have hope for them.

Juan Carlos has now been released, but we wanted America to know this story. A U.S. citizen, born here, held without cause under a law that was already blocked. This is what happens when political stunts turn into policy.

Anyone else read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine (by Gail Honeyman)? It is brilliant! Hands down may favorite of the year so far.

I just read a comment by a book reviewer where she was mad that the characters had an unplanned pregnancy at the end as she didn't think that was romantic. She stated, "Why did they do that? It's annoying that they didn't start their relationship before they decide to get pregnant." (Cont'd)

What does a mixture of reflecting on civil rights, healing from c-section trauma, and the fear of the new Trump administration look like through the lense of a more mystical practice of Christianity?

A safe haven with warmth, restrooms, internet access, books, and the simple dignity of being able to exist in peace—without any expectation of spending money.
