Happy to share our new research just published on New Phytologist!
We explored the novel kind of acclimation to far-red light that we discovered in the microalga Nannochloropsis gaditana. A new kind of mechanisms that allows this organism to thrive relying only on low energy wavelengths!
Discovery of a new mechanism of photosynthetic acclimation to far-red light in the microalga Nannochloropsis gaditana: thylakoid reorganization and adjusted photosystem stoichiometry enable cells to grow without visible light.
