Here's a nice change of pace. OH my gosh these potatoes are genuinely so nice: Comfortably sour compared to bland American potato salad but not as vinegary as German potato salad in case you don't want to scare anyone off. Lol

Great day for a peaceful protest at KC's Country Club plaza, fantastic turnout. Fuck you, fascist cowards: WE matter, your money does not.

One of my favorite recipes from this book--Not that it's the best tasting, it's just so darn fun to make. (When it says "a high heat", tho--just do medium, else you'll burn it) Thanks to my chef friend who suggested I add canned pineapple for sweetness and sub the juice for water to wet the flour.

Starting off February with Carrot+turnip mash. All the cooks out there can laugh at me all they want, but I...did not realize how incredible this combo was going to be. And you literally just add butter and salt/pepper. (I used Miyokos)

Just watched Kubrick's "Paths of Glory." Dang, this is a great little film. The action scenes are intense without allowing you that gory "thrill" that often glorifies war unintentionally. Script is sharp and to the point, the anti-war message clear but nuanced. Plus incredible camerawork for 1957.

My brief foray into French two years ago has made me unreasonably excited about this.

Discussing our ideal Star Trek bridge crews with my Mom, I realized I need to give a shout out to Marina Sirtis. We all dog on the writers (rightfully) for giving Troi nothing to say but "Captain, I think he's hiding something" and yet I CANNOT imagine this show without her.💙

First recipe owning the cookbook! I used a yellow onion and added green onion obviously for color. They're great on their own--tasty, not as heavy as the canned stuff--but they're BRILLIANT with the toasted sourdough.

My family gave me the cookbook for Christmas, so I get to share the book with the salad at once!

I use smoked tofu in mine. Red tomatoes for color but the yellow ones are 🔥.

My experience cooking is limited, but I've never made anything as nice as what I've made with this cookbook.👌❤️

Okay sure, Bones and the Doctor are both great characters, but you know who you'd want as your primary care physician. ❤️‍🔥

I bought "How to be an Anti-Racist" by Ibram X Kendi a while back and then left it on the shelf because I kept thinking it would just make me depressed. I finally opened it up and finished it recently and it was not at all what I dreaded. Very logical, accessible, to-the-point and actionable.
