It was a beautiful movie. I definitely should have just brought the box of tissues into my room though. You might say it's a movie with more heart than one person can hold.

The focus on keeping things tidy and orderly. The willingness to fight hard for the people he loved, even when it made him unpopular. The way he grew and changed even in his final years. And the way he learned Spanish for his grandkids -- biological and calabash.

Otto reminded me a lot of my dad. Not his story. Just his personality. The grumpiness and the care for others. The frustration with the way other people do things "wrong" and the desire to make things right.

I didn't know what I was getting into, but the man is utterly brilliant so if he said it's a good movie, I figured it was something I should check out.

Are the Democrats ready to get to work immediately undoing as much damage as they possibly can the minute they are in office? Like passing a new bill that invalidates the horrible things in the Big Bad Bill, for instance?

It's gone past the point of "obsolete technology" into the realm of fascinating ancient artifact that you can actually still use. Give it to a grandchild and teach them how to use it! (It doesn't have to be YOUR grandchild.)

You might be able to contact a local immigrant rights organization to find out where the local detention centers are. They can also connect you with efforts that are already ongoing and you'll be able to learn more with people who've been working on this issue for years already
