That is a great position but if you come from somewhere else in Europe, flight/train + ridiculously expensive Cologne hotel costs + Gamescom ticket is still less than half the price of a GDC trip

No but you see, you don't *understand*. They really care about developers. There is nobody else in the world doing the same thing as they do. For the developers.

It's cheaper for North-American devs to attend Gamescom 🫠

Yeah that's how i interpreted it as well. Plus the talk in the industry has been "gdc is dying" so they probably try to fix that somehow
