It really is a nice theory. The only defect I think it has is probably common to all philosophical theories. It's wrong. - Saul Kripke
We are further from the Boston Mooninite panic than the Boston Mooninite Panic was from the marathon bombing.

It's pretty impressive just how many fields JVN contributed to. But the obsession with him I always felt was a type of in-group signaling. They want their own version of "go to example of a smart guy" that isn't Einstein because the normies know about him.

I only thought to do this after realizing how much I used "and" in the previous sentence.

Hanania is a hilarious character in that he is a eugenicist who takes the doctrine of eugenics seriously enough that he’s decided libs are a higher intellectual class than conservatives.

I don't think AIPAC guys would even dispute the existence of an "Israel lobby"
November 10, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Being generous, it could be that people think the rhetoric around AIPAC is reflective of some kind of "Jews control the government" nuttery. But ultimately, this is just a Bulverism. The statement that there exists an Israel lobby in America is just straightforwardly true at the end of the day.

It's also why I think that people overestimate how important DNC infighting is among normielibs. Your average Democrat probably has positive opinions of both Biden and Mamdani.

Hence why Zohran can't run as part of the DSA alone, being a "Republican" or "Democrat" is essentially an identity in America, and it's very difficult to get a non-insignificant number of voters to support a third party for that reason.

It’s genuinely scary how well GPT4 and above can sound like a human sometimes, I totally get how people in bad mental states get driven crazy by these things.

A problem is that the people who are. the most militantly anti-Ai already decided they never wanted to use LLMs back in 2023, so they have been significantly behind on how good they are getting.
November 9, 2025 at 4:35 PM
This is part of why denying LLM abilities is counterproductive. I don’t think so many people would be lured to killing themselves by these things if they weren’t so good at mimicking humans.

For TSWCIFTC it would have to be Fiedler.

I love how much Trump obviously despises the fact that he has to have a VP.
