Or to be more concrete, I think any serious left wing project in the US is going to have to use coercive state power against its political opponents, which will often take the form of prison. Ex: people like Stephen Miller and other senior reactionaries, or ICE agents

I suppose I'm skeptical such an institution could ever exist, unless/until society were so radically different that we're already in the Leninist "state withering away" part of the process. In which case I think it's useful as a hypothetical discussion, but not as an immediate policy proposal

I genuinely don't follow your argument in this thread. You believe in mass revolutionary violence but think imprisoning people is a step too far? Surely if you believe in violent struggle you can imagine scenarios where the revolutionary state should have the power to detain people

Little kid's developing humor is so funny. My nephew had a phase where he was totally pre-verbal but would laugh at the punchlines of Blue Hat Green Hat. Like he was a little baby, just able to sit up, but he clearly understood what was funny about a turkey putting clothes on wrong. Fascinating

Not sure if this is woke per se, but Im skeptical that "community" anything will solve large scale problems, ex community gardens, community childrearing, community justice. Socialism will require a vast and faceless (but democratically accountable) bureaucracy.

I don't get your framing that the left can do anything to help them besides beating them so thoroughly they're forced to moderate or be pushed out entirely. Like the "we need a strong GOP" line was in the context of Pelosi, Biden etc believing the "fever would break" long after that was realistic
