As Cassie mentioned, in StrongTowns Buckman/Kerns we are advocating for BES Sewer and Green Street projects to apply to LW 004. BES committed to working more closely with PBOT earlier this year but they have largely reneged on this promise. There is an open question to PBOT if LW 004 is even current

I got a ENVS degree with heavy emphasis on the social sciences/history and avoided math, GIS, Econ, anything hard. Had to get a subsequent associates in information systems to be remotely employable. That said, every class I took lives with me years later and none of it was wasted time.

Can’t the take just be “we should continue to strive to increase the quality and freshness of food that poor people eat, using modern capacity”? The whole “people are dumb for not being exactly right” is just not a winner.

I don’t quite get where you stand. Did you vote third party (as I did)? What was the assignment? To vote for Kamala? If so, who’s assigning this to you? Didn’t you say you don’t give a fuck if “we” lose again? Can you help me understand who’s “we” and where you’re coming from a bit more?

I agree to the degree that if the point of the article was to coddle, that’s stupid. But don’t we still need to demand or enact a political movement that she’d vote for out of pure self interest because her $40k/yr self interest is actually p similar to ppl you love and care about?

Do you perceive me to be saying you must like this person and vibe with her? Isn’t the goal to be able to grow a broad enough coalition of people you perhaps even dislike on a vibes level to achieve material political gain for people you do like on a vibes level?

She was misguided, wrong…and self-absorbed. But she is also 24 and may live 50 more years so don’t we want her to do better? What additional, specific consequences must she face, in your view, for her mistake?
