Ah, the Beatles era John Lennon. I was assuming solo John Lennon so now I think I can see it a bit more. I’m going to spend a day or so rereading what you wrote while listening on repeat to see if I can hear it like that. Very cool of you to write this for me, thanks.

Also wanted to mention I’m listening to it while reading Ian Leslie’s book ‘John & Paul’ (which I highly recommend if you haven’t already read it, it’s hard to put down). So maybe I just need to do one or the other, not both at the same time to try to see how 😂

I don’t mean to sound naive or combative, I genuinely just don’t know how it does so I’m looking to learn how it does. It could be because I’ve been listening to it for at least a year or more as ‘God’s Trash’ so I’m not seeing it fresh? Not sure.

I loved the first part so much & would’ve been thrilled for at least of few hours or more of that. The rest of it was not my thing at all (to put it mildly). It was impossible for me to rate it on Letterboxd & IMDb.

I completely agree, he was so great in both of those. I also loved him in No Country For Old Men, the Sicario moviies, American Gangster & probably my fave of his- Inherent Vice (that bizarre character he played cracks me up so much)

Yeah, I really enjoy his acting too but I think there’s zero chance he fully quits acting. Guy like him, doing it all his life, he needs to act, it’s addicting & he’s got to be too used to all that comes w/it. I imagine it’d be hard to become irrelevant (for lack of a better word) after all that.
