Cutting the workforce is a cheap trick to make a company look more profitable. A business is meant to make money so it is expected. The purpose of a government isn’t solely financial. It’s social, too. Cutting federal workers and important programs kneecaps a country’s ability to govern responsibly.

A suit doesn’t make a man.

Something to keep an eye on as tariffs dominate headlines: corporations artificially boosting profits under the guise of “tariffs make things more expensive.” They did it with COVID and they’ll do it again.

When you cut certain costs and regulations, safety is sacrificed and people suffer. The quality of goods, healthcare, and food decreases. Travel is more unsafe - we saw this in DC last night - to benefit a bottom line somewhere. A government for the people should not be run like a business.

I never liked Country music. The sounds is awful but the lyrics and personalities are worse. It breeds an unhealthy sense of nationalism wrapped in twang, leather, and tight jeans.

I recently learned kids are using their phones’ camera and text apps to record video messages instead of calling or texting. Video is how they engage and consume, and what makes #TikTok so powerful. Controlling it was the play.
