Young frankenstein was fun.
I really liked the first half of re-animator, then the second half just fell apart? The protag was interesting.
The fly (80s) is a weird movie.
Saint Maud consistently missed the mark on multiple levels.

Young frankenstein - 3/5. It was fun. Re animator- 3/5. The protagonist really pushed this movie forward. Once the movie stopped focusing on him as much it just became another horror movie from the 80s. I feel like there was intended to be more of a dynamic between him and the co lead but nothing really came of it. The fly- 2/5. The casting was bad and Jeff Goldblum's acting made me laugh. It was such an odd movie. Saint Maud- 1/5. I have a lot to say about this one, but I won't. There were a lot of small things in this movie that could have made it good but none of them were developed to the point that they should've been. The movie also came off as the slightest bit pretentious.

Evil/possessed scarlet witch. The comic itself was... fine. They tried to give Wanda and pietro an orgin story, but iirc it gets retconned at least twice after this. There were a few plot holes. But I liked the art.

I tracked down an official reference sheet for mega altaria and realized that it looks a lot like a bird in a fluffy earflap/trapper hat and scarf. There was also an altaria without feathers on the sheet that I thought looked funny.

It's Tierlist Tuesday. This is a halloween themed tierlist of how much the goosebumps books scared me as a child. I realized that the general concept of the top two deal more with existential horror, which is interesting because I still react to existential horror strongly.

Pretend it's Friday. I had never seen any of the Alien movies before this week. I don't know what the general consensus on this series is but I feel like my takes are hot.
Alien 3 was an entire vibe.
Resurrection exists.

Alien - 2.5 ⭐ tbf I feel like if I were around in the 70s and saw this when it was brand new I would've really liked it. Great practical effects. Worldbuilding issues. But overall I was just fairly bored? Aliens- 3.5 ⭐ I liked the twists and character growth. Worldbuilding issues. Alien 3 - 4⭐ I liked the general look/vibe of this one. There was a lovely interplay with colors near the end of the movie, and there were some interesting soundtrack choices. Cgi alien was horrible but prop/guy in suit Alien looked great. I liked its take on religion more than I disliked it. Alien Resurrection- 1.5 ⭐ this is a movie that was made.

Head drills. I'm noticing that people have vastly different foreheads, brow ridges, jaw widths/etc. and I usually don't capture those correctly in my drawings which is why they tend to look off. I also tend to round my jaws too much. #art #myart
Heads, with small messy notes. I also realized that some people's heads just dont translate to a 2d medium as well as others unless they're shaded/positioned correctly.

I finished my #turtonator drawing. According to bulbapedia turtonator's shell is supposed to represent a symbolic explosion, which I see now. And its design is partly based on an irl turtle species with spikes on its body.
