It’s a great day to come out to vote, New Haven! See you at the polls at 200 Orange St!

Absolutely beautiful day to knock doors in Ward 7 with a great group of local high schoolers! We have to get more young people engaged and involved if we’re going to build a better city and win back our country.

Thanks to all the folks and dogs we got to meet to on the doors!

I was inspired to see so many folks out on the Green at the No Kings rally on Saturday! Right now, it’s pretty simple: we have to get out of the house and protest, organize, advocate, and vote to stand up for our community and our values.

I was also grateful for the opportunity to speak at a rally last week calling on our local TV station WTNH, owned by media giant Nexstar, to have a spine and put Jimmy Kimmel back on the air (which they’ve now done).

This is not the time to sit at home. Let’s keep up the fight.

Right now, showing up to protest is one of the most important ways we can stand up for our communities and our values. I was proud to join thousands of New Haven neighbors last week to call on Yale to settle good contracts with its workers and to contribute more to our city.

Good to be out marching today with Manny Camacho to call on Yale to sign fair contracts with its workers and increase its contribution to New Haven!

In my remarks, I talked about how my dad, brother, and I biked on the trail often when I was a kid, and I remember asking, "What's behind that gate?" about the end of the trail around Temple St. Now, that gate is open, and walkers, joggers, and bikers have a beautiful new space!

Last week, we finally cut the ribbon on the new extension of the Farmington Canal Trail, which you can now access at Grove and Orange! Thank you to everyone who has played a role in making this great resource available to our community!
