Third attempt. I simplified considerably! Just a cube, beveled to create an octagon, stretched out, a few rings around it, and bevel every other angle around alternating rings. Shazam!

Gothic architecture is a lot of fun to play with. This is ugly as heck from a topology standpoint. Good thing I'm not using it for that!

Quick and dirty tip: for decks, array flat planes at a reasonable distance apart against the hull of your ship and use it as a cutter object. This will still require some refining to build things like hatches, elevators and interior details, but it's a start!

Turns out, I guess, Vroid models use a lot of textures instead of geometry, or something like that? But Blender's Freestyle render option... is based on geometry. So, it brings out all the weirdness. TIL!

Progressed a little more on my texture painting project. Starting to get back into it and playing with different brushes and whatnot. I need to start layering colors a little more with transparencies/strengths. Suggestions are more than welcome at this point!
