Well, SpaceX broke the mold. Cushy, cost+ contracts are no longer the only game in town. Look at the stark differences between cost+ SLS and contracted Starship. Night and day. I'm not happy about Elons heel turn either. But trying to cut out SpaceX is not wise or, at this point, not feasible.

Because the old space procurement process incentives not delivering on time or cost, or a lot of the time, not at all. Look at Boeing, and it's Starliner. STILL can't fly a full mission. Say what you want, but SpaceX delivers. Thousands of talented, dedicated people work for SpaceX, not just Elon.

Losing a pet is one of the hardest things in life. I lost my little buddy Tequila, 2 years ago now. He was the friendliest Chihuahua I have ever encountered. I miss him every day.
