I set up my cheering spot right about where a 5K would end so I can watch for those people's disappointed/angry/exasperated faces. (And try to cheer them up.)

I live near the aid station at mile 3 and thanked the volunteers as they were leaving. They told me that participants actually YELL at them when they say there are 2 miles left to go. A lot of folks think they signed up for 5k and get pissed when they realize their error.

Naw, you've got to turn right every time. Then circumvent the globe and come to your destination from the other side. For safety.

This was an interesting read, thanks! I'm curious how many of these non-obvious-joke write-ins came from folks making a point, versus folks who are just too confused (elder voter with memory issues, for example) to understand what they are doing.
