For Masters work, she conducted in-depth studies of the matrilineal Haudenosaunee governance that had women in leadership roles.

On the night we left Kauai to wrap up our retirement gift and 1st trip, & after witnessing Kilauea's 33rd eruption, episode 34 began its fountaining lava flow. Here is my first effort to capture it; turns out it was even more dramatic & rose even higher than I show here. It's so fascinating to me.

We can do better. In the Midwest, the Corps of Engineers tethers barges where birds' nests are washed off sandbars, and it is helping to restore populations. I wonder if a similar solution might provide a place for Monk Seals where they expect to birth and feed nearby.

Textile!!!

"Yoonsuk Park" by American textile artist Erna O'Shea (1936-2024) Quilted fabric.

The artwork was created in 2016 and depicts a dense cluster of houses with clotheslines strung between them.

The quilt consists of 16 squares sewn from different fabrics, patterns, and technical stitches.
