The tweet was from January 2023... The R version was 4.2.2. It was only affecting R under Mac AARM64 (not under linux or an older mac with same R). I don't have a Mac so I don't know whether the issue is still present but I had to put a fix on one of my R package to handle the issue.

I found an answer at that time, will try to paste it here. Indeed, it was an official Mac binary, I can't remember the version.
