Not from pit. But from the place between decisions, where the road forks and the stars forget their names. He comes clothed in kindness and wrapped in patience. His voice is not thunder. It is memory. He offers not torment, but understanding. He says, “What would you give for one more day?” And many answer before they know the weight of the question. This is the tale of one who did. Colin, son of sorrow, maker of vows, breaker of peace. He signed no scroll, spoke no ritual, spilled no blood. He only wanted. And that was enough. For want is a door, and the Devil requires only that it be opened. He asked for time, and it was given. He asked for love, and it was borrowed. I violated my own rule and had not slept on it before posting. So I made some changes. I got excited because I haven't been able to make a piece come together like this in a while and posted it as soon as I was done. #art #darkart

Her skin has many black dots all over as well, now updated with more dark shapes with white dots to fill out character better, I shortened the jagged teeth, and added more chaotic strands of hair all around. also not mentioned before is some white hair strands and highlights. Lines now break under the eye sockets into the cheek bones.

“It still hurts,” Colin stated solemnly as he turned around once again to face a now empty bed. His sadness began welling up in him even stronger than ever before. Just as he felt tears beginning to form in his eyes, a hand clamped down supportively on his shoulder. “I never said I would take away the pain,” the man said. Strangely, his words felt comforting. “I couldn’t take it away even if I wanted to. The pain of losing a soul mate…” the man looked to the floor. “…even I had to endure that pain.” “Couldn’t you have taken away her pain?” Colin asked of the mysterious man. He had watched his wife suffer so greatly over those five years. Why did she have to suffer? “You never asked me to do that,” the man replied flatly. “Though, you probably should have done just that. I hear cancer is such a terrible affliction for your kind.” Colin made a fist. He wanted to strike the man. He felt the urge to deck him right in the mouth. He didn’t. He couldn’t. He was a coward. So cowardly, in fact, that he was terrified to pay his debt even now. “Can I have this last morning?” Colin asked after shaking the rage from his soul. “Just some coffee, maybe a shower. One more hour. Here.”
