While this executive order is extremely detrimental, we will not stop doing the work to reduce stigma and promote compassionate responses rooted in dignity and respect for everyone. We look forward to collaborating with you all making change to care for our communities through non-punitive measures.

Defunding and under-resourcing evidence-based harm reduction programs will only increase overdoses and other serious risks. And this will increase stigma and push people further away.

Delaying + interrupting funding delays and interrupts life-saving care. State public health departments rely on this funding to collect data, understand existing and emerging patterns, implement interventions, and assess program outcomes for overdoses and other health disparities.
