I love words, music and foolishness in equal measure.
Sometimes I go through the rubbish bins of important people and lovingly retrieve the poetry they discard.

“Moonlight and Love Songs” by Patsy Chingwile. A wonderful artist with a very distinctive style. I am so lucky because I bought this beautiful painting! She lives at my house now and her blue eyes follow me around the room.

Vincent Namatjira’s “King Dingo” is one of my favourite works in the Wynne Prize this year. The artist explains he has painted the dingo as a symbol of Indigenous power.

Vipoo Srivilasa’s “Self-portrait as a cat king” is a ceramic tile featuring the artist amongst his Burmese cats. He writes that the work blends “identity, culture and affection for my feline companions into a single frame.”

Peter Ke Heng Chen’s “I’m a little fish in New York (ripples of ambition)”. A portrait of the artist’s son, the loveable comedian Aaron Chen. I can see a father looking at his grown-up, successful son. A very tender painting.

It wasn’t easy to choose, but I voted for Loribelle Spirovski’s “Finger painting of William Barton” in the Archibald Prize this year.
I love this painting for its looseness and freedom, the way it lets the light in.

The umpires are human
We do not play in the big league
THIS IS OUR GAME”

#DearSpud,

You’re right there’s way too much diversity.

Look at shadow cabinet. You’ve got seven non-men in there, all in the form of women! That’s 35%!

Nip it in the bud. Just yell at them: “You’re fired!”

Cheering you all the way,

All the Non-Woke Blokes

Us menfolk are feeling neglected.
Diversity’s made us dejected.
It’s made us quite cross.
We like to be boss.
It’s Trumpy’s great scheme I’ve projected.

Dear Mr Muck,

We saw you do your funny hand gestures on the telly the other day and you should probably stay away from here, because it’s kind of illegal around these parts.

Best if we just watch you from here, OK?

Ta-ta! (waving not saluting)
