Fine, Pete.

Next time you see a sign reading “Piss off, neighbour,” maybe we’ll drop the “u.” #uspoli #canpoli

This breakfast looks like it’s going to be a beauty. Just need to fry a couple of eggs.

Today’s breakfast, based on the one in Jamie Oliver’s Superfoods cookbook. I didn’t think I liked black beans. I was wrong. They’re delicious.

Joking that I’ve become my Mom. She canned peaches, made jam, froze green peppers, corn and fruit. I’ve been canning peaches, making jam, freezing peppers and fruit. Just so long as I don’t start claiming that margarine is better than butter….

One batch of fruit for jam in the fridge til tomorrow - as the recipe calls for, one bag of beans topped and tailed and chopped for the freezer (two bags portioned out) and now dicing up 4 bunches of celery. All BC produce, too.

Feeling accomplished this morning. The only leak now is from the spray nozzle, and a hose washer might fix that.

Took a little blood (literally - somehow forcing the end into the hose end left a few thin cuts) and some sweat (already hot out) but no tears.

Happy with my turnip harvest today. I’d planted 5 feet of turnips using the square foot method, harvested a few over the last week or two, & harvested off the rest today. Ended up with five small freezer bags (1-2 cups each) for soups. Planning to replant with the same, in hopes of a second harvest.

Picked three containers of raspberries and a bucket of peas from the garden this morning. Now I’m making raspberry jam. #gardening #cooking

8 in the morning and it’s not all that cool. Harvesting the second bed of garlic today before the rain. Planning to transplant my squash starts in the first bed, and this bed will get cucumbers.

Making a “throw it together” pasta for dinner. Never quite the same recipe twice, as it depends on what’s in the fridge. Today it’s onion, garlic scapes, prosciutto, leeks, mushrooms and tomatoes over rotini. I’m debating trying the egg/parmesan method from carbonara.

Egg white scramble with ham, peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese. If you’re wondering about the yolks, they were used in last night’s pasta.
