We also find that far-left users on this platform are more likely to engage in downvoting across ideological lines, while far-right users tend to remain isolated in their interaction patterns (bottom-left vs. top-right corner in the heatmaps).

We also find that far-left users on this platform are more likely to engage in downvoting across ideological lines, while far-right users tend to remain isolated in their interaction patterns (bottom-left vs. top-right corner in the heatmaps).
When looking at topics such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, we find that both approaches recover polarized ideological camps, while considering negative ties (SHEEP) helps identifying extreme users who engage in antagonistic behaviors (e.g. downvoting against the opposing faction).
