The Annual Law Reform Lecture was a tour de force from Sir Nicholas Mostyn on Family Law, Open Justice & the Rule of Law. The monograph and slides will be published on the @thebarcouncil.bsky.social website soon. Thanks to the Team which organised all of this with me and the committee.

Had a thoroughly convivial evening yesterday attending an iftar organised by chambers for those of my colleagues and guest solicitors observing their holy period of Ramadan. Enjoyed joining them in breaking their fast with dates followed by a sit down meal. I may have eaten too much cake….☺️🍰

About to tune into the Public Law Lecture by the excellent Professor Alison Young (one of our Law Commissioners but to me she will forever be my inspiring college tutor at university who got me into using chocolate fingers as a porous straw with tea or coffee!)

Absolutely wonderful private celebration for two very special newlywed barristers at Lincoln’s Inn yesterday. The Great Hall was alive with music, ceilidh dancing, food and drink and so much goodwill and love for the newlyweds.

What an amazing morning hearing inspirational (in the truest sense of the word) speakers before running the advocacy masterclass / exercise on menstrual equity with Sultana Tadafar KC. Icing on the cake was hearing from my friend Zareen Roohi Ahmed founder of Gift Wellness.

Delighted to host an Indian classical dance and fusion violin event this afternoon featuring some absolutely wonderful artists. It was horrible weather outside but candlelit magic inside. What a heartwarming and uplifting afternoon.
