I'm delighted to be at the 4th Annual DTES Writers Festival Thurs May 22,1-2:30pm with Elder in Residence,Les Nelson, and paula luther (Typewriter Tales). Come mingle with fellow poets, authors, and storytellers (and eat cake 😊)! Carnegie Community Centre Theatre, 401 Main St. Free, all welcome!

VANCOUVER: The Pacific Tree Frogs are singing! Come for an informal listening party to the frogs in the water features around Mundell Park at UBC’s Wesbrook Village. We’ll meet at the playground and wander towards the sounds. Think "amphibious John Cage".

Joe Average died on Christmas Eve in his sleep two days after travelling to Ottawa to receive the Order of Canada.I had the chance to include his story about being diagnosed with HIV in 1984 and learning how to live with deep uncertainty in Against Death:35 Essays on Living @anvilpress.bsky.social
