I'm not having a great time right now. On Friday we had to put our cat to sleep and now I don't have any cats anymore and I find that incredibly difficult to deal with. It will get better at some point, I guess, but right now I am just very, very sad.

It's my last week at my job and it feels really weird to not have something new lined up already (I still have time until the end of the year).

I just finished reading "The River has Roots" by Amal El-Mohtar - beautiful language and illustrations, and the right mix of happy/sad (I cried but it was good, I rarely cry at books). Loved the bonus short story, too, and am now looking forward to the short story collection coming out next year!

Ah yes, calling my bank to lock my credit card due to fraudulent activity wasn't what I was expecting to do just before Christmas! No harm done yet, I should be able to get out of the fraudulent entry, just annoying!

I'm not doing well at the moment - it's not one big thing, but a lot of small ones. Trying to get better which involves a lot of "cruel to be kind" type of medicine. If I'm silent/not reacting, it's not you, it's very much me. ♥

I just bought two new games for the switch for my vacation in September, and let's not even talk about all the stuff in my PS4 library I haven't gotten to yet, but I see so many people talking about Baldur's Gate 3 and Assassin's Creed Mirage that I really want them. 🙈

I need to cast on 220 stitches using Italian cast on and I already had to frog three attempts yesterday because at some point I just... stopped counting, lost I was the motions.

I don't know what's up with Amazon Germany, but it's again postponed the delivery of an English paperback (the latest @kjcharles.bsky.social). Obviously I already have the ebook on my Kindle but the same thing also happened with The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen.

My ear is getting better with occasional down trends, and it's not even that it's so terribly bad, it's just that I would like to be fully recovered, thank you very much.

Apparently sleeping in a horizontal position is not working out because the earache came back 😔 apparently it has to do with the fluid not being able to flow away? So tonight I get to build a support so I can sleep upright in my bed, or to sleep on the couch. Fun times!

I've been awake since 5am and I got up at 6.30am. It's only 9.30am and I feel ready for the day to be over. 🙃 On the upside, my ear feels better. It's blocked again but it was unblocked for several hours last night!

I have possibly an ear infection, possibly it's just clogged up. I have ear drops now, so hopefully it will be fine soon, but I would rather not have to deal with this at all.

I am low-key annoyed because now I have to check three social apps instead of one. This isn't the first time I've been through this, but every time it gets more annoying. Let's bring back mailing lists and Usenet forums.
