An enjoyer and creator of electronic music and the instruments for making it. Sweeping lowpass filters makes my spine tingle.

Also a retrocomputing enthusiast and a longtime Linux user. Owns way too many C64s, Amigas and Gravis Ultrasounds.
I finally did the goof which I feared that I'd eventually do - plugged the power ribbon of my M303 reversed. 🤦‍♀️

Visually under a scope, I can at least see that a 22ohm 0805 resistor and a 40106 CMOS Schmitt-trigger weren't too happy about it. Going to try replacing them and hope nothing else failed.

Yaay, it's past midnight - happy 2025 everyone!

As has become my tradition, I'm now off to watch Koyaanisquatsi as the very first thing in the beginning of a new year.

Funny how a 40+ year old movie with no spoken lines always invokes new thoughts on the year that ended, and the year ahead of us..

Imaging the physical SCSI hard drive of the E-mu E4XT to BlueSCSI was a success and it has now replaced the spinning rust. The sampler is happily back in the rack with all the other old rackmount gear.

Going to try the initiator mode on BlueSCSI to get an image of the hard disk on this E-Mu E4XT.

AmigaDOScember? The Pentium running MS-DOS still has a dodgy disk, so warming up a bit on the '060 in the meanwhile.

Finally got around to checking my stash of Gravis Ultrasounds for leaky caps like @adriansdigitalbasement.com advised and, uh oh.. This one doesn't look too good (spare caps above foreshadowing).
