It was a long council meeting introducing new residential zoning last week. Change is hard but we need to grow as our region does, in every neighborhood, and not just on arterials. We need all kinds of housing for all kinds of families and seniors. I like the new changes and hope to see them passed!

I'm just so excited to be running next to such a great group of candidates!! We bring different perspectives but share the same progressive values and dedication to making things better. We are here to make sure Burien thrives with safer streets, a fair minimum wage, and transparent city government!

It was wonderful to spend the evening with the Muslim American Youth Foundation for their annual Iftar Dinner! I loved hearing about the great work they do in Burien and celebrating Ramadan with our Muslim Community!

Going to the Housing and Homelessness Advocacy Lobby Day was great! It was amazing to join friends and community members to ask our representatives to protect renters, make it easier to build housing, and to treat our homeless neighbors with dignity and respect!

Woooo looks like we've raised the wage for Burien workers! So happy that our community values hard work and makes sure that people can make a living wage where they live. We've got more to do but this definitely feels like a step in the right direction!

This past week I had the wonderful opportunity to talk with Burien leaders past and present, including Discover Burien! We may not agree on everything but it was great to learn people's priorities, see where we are aligned, and how we can work together to make Burien better!
