Enjoyed this newly-published guide to Cryo-EM for battery research! Some great points to think about when aiming to make battery EM as quantitative as possible.
A Beginner’s Guide to Cryo-EM for Battery Research
Cryogenic electron microscopy (cryo-EM) has shown great promise in preserving and characterizing beam-sensitive battery materials and interfaces at atomic resolution. With the growing interest in adop...

We want everyone in the chemical sciences community to feel welcome, supported and valued, so we're sad to see some people seize on yesterday's supreme court ruling with anti-trans messages. Today, we're highlighting our resources on allyship for trans colleagues and friends

One of my favorite scanning electron images of nickel nanocatalysts in a fuel cell electrode: these particles improve this electrode by increasing the number of oxidation reactions that can happen in parallel, making energy production from hydrogen more efficient! (Rix et. al. 2021)

MIT has also been atrocious to Palestine solidarity workers

There are no heroes here. Just institutions trying to preserve themselves. And I’m glad self preservation kicked in because the alternative is worse but they’re not heroic.

As a researcher concerned with the advancement of science amid political attacks, I find optimism in the histories of scientists who persisted and found community through anti-science periods. Among these stories are the life and research of Spanish-born chemist Dr. Antonio Madinaveitia Tabuyo. 1/9
