So, while I wouldn't want to support religious people, I'm not sure a world full of people with a homogenous belief system or lack of belief would solve the fundamental human problems that underlie the behaviors of people (including religious people).

Religious people would say, in their language, things such as "if everyone behaved like Jesus" or "if everyone behaved like Buddha", the world would me a great place. Maybe it would be, but that's clearly not the reality we see.

Regardless of what people believe in. I think human nature is more complex than beliefs. In particular, many beliefs are formed as a result of childhood experiences, conditioning, trauma and other factors that influence personality formation.

I get that. However, I also think most people still think from the ego, so disagreements and conflicts, even bloody ones, can't be avoided IMHO.

This is true. However, humans will still find plenty to reasons to not get along, regardless of beliefs.
