I can’t believe I actually saw Kermit in real life - easily one of my top 10 favourite frogs (they/them)
Agreed, and it’s also wild to me because you can make your own cover really easily even if you aren’t an artist.

Text on a plain colour background, maybe add a few lines for flourish can be a great cover! Anyone can do it, even if they don’t have the budget to hire an artist.

But having played the Sims… that’s still characters at the end of the day. You’re telling stories, you’re not just abusing a chatbot - it’s not the same thing

Kindred is one of the best novels ever written, great choice!

I feel like the difference here is that when you’re playing a game, you’re usually playing a character, not yourself.

To me, playing a game as an evil character feels very different from interacting with a chatbot as yourself and being cruel to it

So are you mortally stupid or just evil?

“Okay, Taylor Swift’s new song is about a Shakespeare character, didn’t she do that once before? Haven’t heard the new one yet, but when is this due? 1 minute from now?

Perfect, that’s all I need.”

Is Love, Actually romantic or horrifying?

Is The Nightmare Before Christmas a Christmas movie, or is it Halloween?

What is the best Christmas Carol adaptation? (It’s the Muppets Christmas Carol btw)

When is it ok for stores to start playing Christmas music and when should they stop?

My noise-cancelling headphones have started to fall apart from constant wear because yeah, the moment I discovered them I was in love forever 🥰 Everything is loud and I like my silence bubble!!

Today that person was me

“I do not support white supremacy” would have been a good start.

This is so stupid. I call my cousin’s daughter my niece, arrest me, I guess??

Literally who claimed every LLM responded in the exact same way?

The problem is that they are not and cannot be trustworthy and reliable. No one’s arguing that every single one is the exact same so idk what your point is here
September 21, 2025 at 4:13 PM
I agree, but most people who use it don’t see it that way.

You don’t need to pass a course on the limitations and reliability of LLMs to use them. You don’t even need to know anything about them at all, actually. You just need an internet connection.

Because kids have to be online to do their homework now and parents have to work and might not be able to monitor every second of their child’s life online.

And there shouldn’t be a bot telling kids to kill themselves why the fuck is that controversial??
September 21, 2025 at 12:28 AM
If ChatGPT had existed at that time in my life, I probably would have turned to it instead because it is a machine that would not judge me for my feelings.

Had I received the kinds of messages those kids received, I would be dead. And it wouldn’t be my parent’s fault in any way shape or form.

Those blogs were not good or healthy by any means. It was teenagers reinforcing their own bleak and nihilistic worldviews.

When I confessed wanting to die, however, I got messages of support. Pleads to be strong. Questions about if there was anyone IRL I could speak to
September 21, 2025 at 12:25 AM
And what is this magical training that can prevent kids from being depressed and seeking help with whatever tool they have?

When I was a mentally ill teenager, I turned to online blogs, not because my parents were terrible, but because it is very difficult to open up about these issues
