Fruitless hunt thru NR archive yielded 298 unique hits for "anglosphere", still exotic to me conceit i'd falsely recalled emblazoned before the grinning 'migos but sad to say retained from a peep inside.

if you can stand a detour thru pedant town, probably AP was reluctant to objectify, however sympathetically, his recently died (in '51) very best friend, the famous in his own right Constant Lambert (curiously pastoral name) ; his portrayal apparently the truest to life of the lot (I believe it )

speaking of twilight, I'd just love to hear Patti Labelle going full gotterdammerung on "Shadows and Light" or "Ethiopia - just not live, much less on a weeknight, as i'd be unable to drive or sleep

actually, Joan and Mickey's frank and refreshingly sanguine take on friends with benefits precedes its oh-so-famous twin- by-another-mother, "On My Own", by about a year (McDonald, freshly dumped and penitent to the bone, brays into twilight because neither woman will accept his calls)

Any love here for synth-phase Mitchell? I'll recommend "I'm a Lucky Girl" and "The Reoccurring Dream" ; oh, and please do give a listen to "Good Friends", a decidedly un-famous duet from 1985 which lifts its bass-line and backbeat from "Billie Jean" and its Michael McDonald from "On my Own"
