During my first trip to Kenya 10+ years ago, I remember being welcomed into a voluntary counseling and testing (VCT) center by women who were reliant on PEPFAR for their ARVs. While not a perfect model, 20 mil people like these women will not have access to medicines they need. This is simply cruel.
As a result of the new administration's actions, health centers funded by PEPFAR, the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, are closing their doors and no longer dispersing medication.
