Thank you, Sen. Kaine. I am the current president of the Richmond Academic Library Consortium, and I can tell you, the dissolution of IMLS has been disastrous for many libraries, which *only* exist to serve the public good.

It's nice to read this; it efficiently articulates my own view as well. Indeed, it's my view of the existence of deity too, really. Maybe these things exist. Maybe they don't. I'm okay either way, and interested in others' thoughts, but I don't feel a personal investment in holding a "right" view.
