Got to see Del Toro’s Frankenstein last night in 35mm. His finest film since Pan’s Labyrinth, imo. The result of decades well-spent ruminating on and digesting the original book, to craft a cinematic version of the story that cohesively and beautifully weaves its themes together.

Wasn’t even at the Regal theater to see Jaws. I saw the IMAX rerelease they did back in 2022, and didn’t feel a need to go again with so much else playing. But I couldn’t resist snagging one of these barrel cups. :)

There’s a lot of it that feels thematically familiar, but it all feels fresh through the lens of Gundam as an IP
