Miners used to also "not be permitted to form unions", that was most of the reason they tried so hard to form them. This is the perennial unionization problem: everyone with power doesn't want you to have one, but that's exactly why you have to form one. They're never gonna just let it happen.

One could even consider it a backdoor into a kind of socialism that has a strong sense of nationalism, which rejects minority identities that challenge the status quo... a sort of "national socialism" if you will. These people are extremely dangerous. Even their radicalism is stale and half-baked.

Personally I would rather like it if every non-Nazi social media platform wasn't moderated like a preschool classroom by bigoted automods and thin-skinned staff, even if that allows the occasional hurtful comment to slip through.

Theres a snag in this reductive paraphrasing and its that capitalists are not a "type" of person. Capitalists are not an identity group like trans people or people of color. When capital is suppressed, "capitalists" cease to exist at all. It is an emergent quality rather than an inherent one.

I think generally I agree, but I'm not well-read on the broader subject of medical chauvinism. What's really chafing me is people arguing that there's "nothing we can truly know" about medicine when there 100% is! I take hormones and they work! Vaccines work! Like you said, it isn't hypothetical.

I've unfortunately gotten all too familiar with this pattern from my own family becoming health fad freaks because of similar issues with unhelpful doctors. Their reasonable issues with the system don't validate their subsequent belief in junk science scams.

Well that block was a good choice lol. But again, I am all for grappling with medical chauvinism and I'm sure I've got blind spots around it. But some of these takes are going way past reasonable skepticism into "who can say if medicines even do anything?" because of some (many) bad doctors

And FWIW I tend to agree. I'm not much of an anti-theist because much of the problems broadly ascribed to "religion" are 100% just Evangelical Christian nonsense. Not to even mention how already marginalized basically every other religion is in the US.

Mainly this particular reply chain under snuffbait. Puppyposts is leaning hard on this specific logic in multiple replies. I'm all for rooting out the bigotry and subjectivity in medicine to improve outcomes, but we can't be sitting here using RFK Jr.'s logic to get there.
