😂 just read the link. You’re making my point. The PPA has run and continues to run this whole thing since 1934 under Dick Sheppard. The white poppy was always a symbol of pacifism and they rejected rearmament against Hitler. Consistently they are pacifists regarding Putin now.

The Peace Pledge Union (PPU) are pacifists. In the case of Hitler & Putin they rejected any kind of military response and adopted a stance of appeasement. It’s a justifiable if impractical moral stance rooted in Christian ethics of non violence but he’s obfuscating the meaning of the white poppy

I think the main conclusion is that local, mayoral elections work differently to national ones in terms of voter mobilisation and rousing people from their political apathy
