right but what team is going to have major league caliber pitchers on their team who are 1. not in contention and 2. more importantly think that trading for 2 months of Nico Hoerner is going to provide them any value. Would need to be a team in contention with a surplus of pitching and 2b/SS need

i dont see the Cubs trading Hoerner in the middle of the season when they are almost surely going to be in contention, its either now or give him a QO at the end of the year. Cardinals are right to put a high price tag on Donovan considering how many years of control he has left

i mean making a trade for an established big leaguer will come at a cost. cant assume the other team will take the prospects that you dont think very highly of, especially for someone like Hoerner who the Cubs dont have to trade at all
