Over the weekend I went out and became an ultra marathoner.
First 50k, under 5 hours and good enough to take 2nd place.
The heat was killer but the people were amazing. Every runner from 10k to 100k was grinding and encouraging and the volunteers kept pushing us.
Amazing experience.

End of an era.
Been lurking/posting on the PA forums since the 2000s till now, long after I even stopped checking the strip.
It was a bastion of civility when compared to other forums of the era. A lot of my progressive evolution is because of stuff that would get discussed there.

Like I know it's bc Imy putting in the work but it's still wild to see these stats.
I think it's also bc I never feel like I'm running faster which is probably a good thing. I'm just at my comfortable pace.

My running club surprised me with an early birthday celebration.
It sounds cliche but I genuinely get all the thanks I get for organizing from people showing up and watching them connect.

I always find fast 5k harder than any marathon so I been chasing a PR since 2021.
This year I been feeling really strong so I knew I could do it.
Really happy with this performance. I need new running shoes because a leg almost quit on me but cardio wise I felt great.
