The fortuitous convergence of question and answer here is like that of tomato and lettuce. Maybe a bit quicker.

I've got wonderful news, there was a great r/askhistorians post on this a couple days ago! Even answers the club question.

Maybe it was just the natural evolution of Twilight fandom.

The millions of women who grew up on poorly written "dark" romantic YA were now adults and wanted some of that same flavour, but more grown up. More adult.

As it blew up among that crowd, everyone else wanted to check out the taboo thing.

When Reddit killed most third party apps they did allow some accessibility apps to survive. I've been using red reader, which allows for a greater degree of control over your experience than the default app.

Most people older than that see them more as a little note.

Our millennial class and Gen X prof all felt that the findings resembled their experiences, and it goes to help explain some cultural things like jokes about one's parents using text speak/abbreviations in the "wrong" places.

I remember reading a study in an anthropological linguistics course years ago about how different generations perceive the formality of different mediums.

In short, most people younger than an elder millennial tend to see an email as a letter. With all the expectations of formality attached.

This will be Trey Yesavage’s 5th postseason start. No other pitcher has even made 3 postseason starts within his 1st 8 overall app (reg+post)

Yesavage will be the first pitcher in MLB history to start multiple World Series games within his first 8 career app

The modern version of knowing which objects in the cartoon are plot relevant because they're a somewhat different colour.
