Honestly? It feels like Oblivion. They adjusted the range on some attacks and changed some animations but it’s fundamentally the same game. I’m in the “oblivion > skyrim” camp though so I don’t necessarily hate that lol

I would say it certainly helps but not necessarily. 1 is probably more essential than 2 or X to get the most from it. Having said that XC1 is also one of my favourite jrpgs of all time, so I think anyone interested in the genre should play it anyway lol. Story, systems, pacing, all fantastic.
