And it was a maga congressional candidates here in GA (Tori Branum) who claimed responsibility for calling ICE on the Hyundai plant--costing our state thousands of jobs. Last I saw she's still defending it too. And now Kemp has been to SK like 3x trying to beg them to come back--to no avail so far.

100% agree there. And particularly when it comes to that dude. Oof.

I'm in a maga suburb of Atlanta, don't believe in 'unicorn' candidates & understand harm reduction/risk mgmt. I'm proud of how far the party has come & would like us to keep pushing from within. I'll always vote for the D, I'd just like to see more that can get us closer to better than what we had.
November 12, 2025 at 3:44 AM
*to clarify I meant of what we have now *in the WH*, not amongst elected Dems
November 12, 2025 at 1:26 AM
I'm for evolving, not dissolving the Dem party. And realize the impracticality trying to successfully emerge a 3rd party. I'd never vote for one (nor for B.S. who I feel is just the 'lefty' version of what we have now).

I'm...not a socialist. I'm a 'normie' dem who's also a bit anti-capitalist--in that I don't think billionaires should be a thing.

None. But I also don't think other countries have the challenges we do. We're a 300M+ diverse, heavily armed citizenry, spread over millions of sq miles.

Women, Black people, immigrants, Muslims, trans people, the working poor, the disabled, the un-housed, young people...by people more concerned about getting reelected, their stock portfolios & putting band-aids on things that aren't working for everyone anyway, than solving actual systemic problems.

I couldn't write a thesis on it & I never thought I'd live long enough to see GA elect TWO Democratic senators, but it's incredibly satisfying to have swapped Purdue/Loeffler for Warnock/Ossoff. Plus just flipped the 2 PSC seats that were up for grabs from R to D last election (all 5 *were* Rs).

Someone else quote tweeted me with a similar question & here's that thread (just trying not to be repetitive--I feel like I'm prob already popping up in too many feeds as it is 😐)

To me, it means not being willing to throw groups of people under the bus (even temorarily) just for the sake of comity or to placate certain other groups--and not prioritizing the comfort of a few to the detriment of many.
November 11, 2025 at 10:31 PM
The local chapters do that & they don't ask for money. Here are some examples from emails I've received.
November 11, 2025 at 10:24 PM
Tbh I don't get much exposure to the heads. The ppl who run my local chapter will often pass along messaging (like the Spotify boycott) or a link to one of their calls & I get a weekly email from them with things going on in GA. But it's the local group that supplies info for things to do near me.

That was covered in other comments I made in this thread:

I'm talking about my local Indivisible group. They don't ask for money. They coordinate things like door knocking/post card writing for Dem candidates, attending school board/city council meetings, pop-up protests/rallies, boycotts, free street medic & know your rights training--local action stuff
November 11, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Absolutely! I love my senators.
November 11, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Protest, monthly donations to ACLU & CREW, joined my local Indivisible group & participate in as many of the weekly calls to action as I can, regularly contact my rep & senators, donate to Dem candidates & I just pulled $2K out of savings to help give the local food bank some extra help. And you?

I said what I meant, as plainly & as succinctly as possible. I didn't really think I was being ambiguous or that further exposition was really necessary since we're all living in this same hellscape of a timeline. But fair enough. Duly noted.
November 11, 2025 at 9:20 PM
No, I wasn't speaking specifically about the shutdown--more generally. But that's just the latest example. And no I don't want people to go hungry--not anyone. I think we should be looking after our communities & making damn sure they don't. It's the Walmarts etc. that benefit most from SNAP.

This is starting to feel like sealioning which is 1 reason I left Twitter...but to me "certain other groups" looks like: straight, white, men, Christians, the wealthy, business leaders/lobbyists...an ex would be 3+ yrs later & 1/2 the country still has fewer rights over their own body than dead ppl.

Agree also. Not a BS fan. Not a fan of his fans either.
November 11, 2025 at 8:36 PM
Oh I do. Every single election. Proud to have helped flip those 2 pubic service commission seats in the last one. But, yeah…agree.

Not *in* HS, but just past graduation, I used to bartend at private, after-hours raves. Except mostly they didin't drink, it was just free ice water & RedBulls (they did tip well on both though). But they *loved* Blow Pops. So I'd buy a few giant bags for like $2/bag & sell them for $3/pop.
