I just arrived in Lund at the World Economic History Congress. I'll talk about ecological footprints of Western diets (paper), environmental change through soy trade (paper) and milk consumption in Spain (comment) since the 1950s. I'm looking forward to meet old colleagues and explore new research.

Spannender Workshop mit Branko Andic über KI in Forschung und Lehre an der @jkulinz.bsky.social. Fazit: KI kann nur schlecht bis gar nicht analysieren, evaluieren und etwas kreieren. Aber genau das macht Intelligenz aus. Also was ist an der KI nun "intelligent?

How is the world's soy used? Not for human food but for animal feed, for the most part. Soy's proteins are converted rather inefficiently into meat-rich diets, enlarging society's footprint on the planet. A more efficient alternative would be eating more soyfoods such as tofu. #soyfacts

The USA under the Trump-Musk regime represents a case of the 'dual state' as outlined by Ernst Fraenkel in the 1940s with regard to Nazi Germany: the nexus between the 'normative state' (which generally respects its own regulations) and the 'prerogative state' (which violates them wantonly).
