I don’t know about the majority-clearly there are many.
Historically, men were the hunters, women were the gathers. They worked together.

This is absolutely incorrect. It’s not evolution that create this idea as man as the provider, it’s societal. Women are good and strong providers. Women want a partner who supports her in a positive loving way and is equally invested in the relationship.
