How did I know they would completely defund Headstart?

They wrote it down in Project 2025 .

The first #EarthDay in 1970 saw 20 million people take to the streets in the USA

It led to the EPA, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Endangered Species Act

Now, more than ever, we need a mass movement for the living world

Maybe I'm just in a COMPLETELY different class than Noem, but *who* carries around $3K in cash? Ever? WHO DOES THAT? If that's a government salary (laughs here)...
Serious question. Kristi Noem was pictured with a Rolex in El Salvador, and got 3k in cash stolen.

She has been on a govt salary for years.

Something aint right

Happy Earth Day. Apparently we're now relying on the honesty of people, rather than federal regulations, to ensure the safety of food, air and water. That'll work out REAL WELL. We already know how much corporations self-police.

This is how fascism operates: it intimidates an already too-accommodating media. What a nightmare. **60 Minutes** people. I feel for him; can only imagine the pressure.

From a source: “Just had a co-presenter for a buildings research conference bow out. She’s a dual citizen and the FBI came knocking to ask her about her involvement in coauthoring chunks of the Paris Agreement.

Climate science is being literally (and I mean literally) criminalized.”

I met a former journalist from @voiceofamerica.bsky.social last night (Paul Westpheling, wonderful guy). V o A is an *essential* journalistic source and what Trump has done to it really does say everything. We should be up in arms about so much, but this shouldn't be left off our "lists."
Trump silenced the Voice of America.
Says everything, really.

Had a political discussion today with a contractor; it's the kind of discussion that we academics need to have more often. Was he right about much? No. But it's insightful to hear somebody articulate what they think is true. We need to have these conversations with people "not like us." 1/?

Australian newspaper "The Sun-Herald" opinion piece calls it out. American msm, take notes.
