I feel like Newsome is a backwards move. You have to be concerned about getting thrown under the bus if you become inconvenient. I like Pete but I think he plays it too safe and centered as well. I'm sure that center leaning independents and old-school Dems will consider them a safe choice.

I find it a little sad how even now late night is such a white sausage-fest. Says a lot about who is allowed to criticize and get paid for it as well as who people consider an acceptable voice of authority. Some of these guys helped Trump get elected by relentlessly battering on Clinton in 2016.

I find it a little heartening that they keep having to offer more money because nobody wants to do the damned job. You know they will not pay a cent more than they have to, and most people applying can't pass the bare minimum of testing to get in.
